How We Test
A rating on Topiry means someone on our team actually ran the product. Here’s what that looks like for each of our beats.
Games
We install and play the build ourselves, checking frame stability, load times, and bug frequency across at least two hardware tiers where possible. We note the patch version tested, since performance can change release to release.
VPNs
We measure real-world download/upload speed and latency against a no-VPN baseline, run DNS and IP leak tests, check the kill switch, and review the provider’s published logging policy against independent audit reports where available.
Software
We install the software on a clean test machine, use its core features as a typical user would for a defined test period, and note crashes, resource usage, and any deceptive UI patterns (like disguised upsells).
AI Tools
We run a consistent set of test prompts across accuracy, reasoning, and refusal-rate categories, and compare outputs against the provider’s advertised capabilities.
Every review states the version tested and the date of testing.
